Dr. Howard Beale is a specialized eye plastic surgeon, and has treated problems related to the eyelids and tear ducts for more than 30 years. His skill is widely recognized, and he has trained more than 100 eye surgeons from around the country. In addition, he taught courses at the American Academy of Ophthalmology for many years, and was invited to provide visiting professorships all over the South. Dr. Beale has performed more than 40,000 plastic ophthalmic surgical procedures, and Dr. Mike McFarland feels he is one of the very top surgeons in his field. At Dr. McFarland’s invitation, Dr. Beale has been affiliated with McFarland Eye Centers since 1994, and has successfully performed hundreds of plastics procedures in our surgical centers in Pine Bluff and Little Rock, and also in Hot Springs.

Dr. Beale, a 1964 graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical School, is a Board Certified ophthalmologist. In addition, he has earned the prestigious F.A.C.S., or Fellowship of American College of Surgeons. He is the past president of the Tennessee Academy of Ophthalmology and was the Chief of Oculoplastic Surgery at the University of Tennessee for 21 years.
