Dr. Whittaker
received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Arkansas
at Fayetteville. Her education continued at Southern College of
Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006.
At SCO, she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Academic Honor Society, the COVD
Student Association, and the Lion's Club. Upon graduation, she received
the prestigious Southwest Contact Lens Society award of Excellence for care
and management of contact lens patients. She is a current member of
Arkansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Though she is a recent graduate, Dr. Whittaker has a decade of
experience in the field of eye care. She has particular interest in the
examination and treatment of infants and children, as well as management of
contact lens wearers. She has experience in fitting all types of contact
lenses, even in patients with corneal disease or prior transplants. Dr.
Whittaker also provides expert management for refractive errors with glasses.
Dr. Whittaker resides with
her husband and son in Benton, Arkansas, and provides patient care to all three
McFarland Eye Centers facilities. |
