"To me, good patient care means listening, understanding, and treating every person with respect and compassion.  I use all of my skills to make sure my patients have the best and most comfortable vision possible, because everyone deserves the chance to see clearly."

Dr. Whittaker received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  Her education continued at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006.  At SCO, she was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Academic Honor Society, the COVD Student Association, and the Lion's Club.  Upon graduation, she received the prestigious Southwest Contact Lens Society award of Excellence for care and management of contact lens patients.  She is a current member of Arkansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Though she is a recent graduate, Dr. Whittaker has a decade of experience in the field of eye care.  She has particular interest in the examination and treatment of infants and children, as well as management of contact lens wearers.  She has experience in fitting all types of contact lenses, even in patients with corneal disease or prior transplants.  Dr. Whittaker also provides expert management for refractive errors with glasses.

Dr. Whittaker resides with her husband and son in Benton, Arkansas, and provides patient care to all three McFarland Eye Centers facilities.
